Todai ji Temple and Nara Park

Located in Nara, Japan, Tōdai-ji ("Great Eastern Temple") is one of the country's most historically significant and prestigious temple complexes. Founded in the 8th century by Emperor Shōmu, it served as the head temple of a nationwide network of provincial temples. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as a masterwork of classical Japanese architecture and Buddhist culture.
