The Chrysler ammeter-based charging system from the sixties-seventies and the magic alternator to battery wire “Under-hood ammeter by-pass”. Sometimes referred to as the "Shunt wire" by-pass by some. Is it a permanent fix or a poorly thought out band-aid repair? Does it make your Mopar electrical system more safe or far less safe in the event of a short circuit anywhere in the stock wiring? What happens to the designed circuit protection for this ammeter based charging/electrical system with this “Shunt wire” by-pass in place. The details nobody mentions.
