Zero Failure On-Camera Flash Events Photography

Hi everyone! It's Christina from Photosprouts, how are you? I created this tutorial to help photographers feel much more confident when shooting events, and I truly hope it becomes a game changer for you. Many photographers panic when using a flash, the clients were overexposed, the settings didn't feel right, and everyone was waiting. But once you understand how to use a flash bouncer and CTO gels properly, on-camera flash becomes almost impossible to fail. The Outlines: 1) Intro (00:00-01:26) -The fear of using on-camera flash -I will use the Godox V1 Mid Flash as the example in this video. -The flash was given to me by Godox to create an honest review, and I didn't get paid -Previously, I used Godox TT600, TT685 in events photography and they are great! Godox V1 Mid is even better and easier to use! -The video is divided into two parts: 1) The process of using a flash and 2) The 3 Must-haves items for on-camera flash photography. 2) The Process (01:27-05:11) -The logic of using a flash -The 3-step process of using a flash -The 2 questions that you might want to ask at this point. 3) The Must-haves #1 (05:12-06:28) -TTL -The reason: The flash power is lowered as you narrow the aperture to accommodate more subjects in the photo, use TTL to save time compensating for the power. -Get the flash that is made for your camera brand so you can use TTL. 4) The Must-haves #2 (06:29-08:17) -Flash bouncer -The reason: To diffuse the light; you never know if you are working with high or low ceilings. -Recommendation for round-flash heads: Godox AK R1 Accessory Kit -Recommendation for most on-camera flash sizes: Rogue 5) The Must-haves #3 (08:18-09:34) -CTO gels -The reason: your camera's White Balance is set to 3500K-3800K under incandescent lightings, the CTO gel is to warm up the light from the flash. -Check out my earlier tutorial on CTO and CTB gels:    • How to use CTB & CTO gels? A Sunset Portra...   6) Demonstration: Putting all the accessories together (09:35-10:23) 7) Demonstration: The comparison (10:24-10:53) Comparing: -No flash -Direct flash -Bounce on low ceiling -Flash bouncer -Flash bouncer + CTO gel 8) Outro (10:54-11:21) -Let me know if this tutorial is helping you shoot better events photography, I'll be your cheerleader!
