FIREMAN SERVICE AGAIN?!?! KONE EcoSpace MRL Traction Elevators at Naperville's Water St. Garage

Yep, first time I've caught the west elevator displaying "OUT OF SERVICE." I was hoping an Otis technician would swing by and fix it, as Naperville typically has their elevators fixed the same day they either notice a problem themselves or receive a report of an elevator being out of service, but from what I was told, Otis is waiting on parts to fix this one. Usually it's the east elevator that breaks or goes into fireman service due to power/controller issues, but now the west elevator has fallen victim to that instead (kinda). I came back the day after filming the first clip and noticed that the indicator was now displaying "FIREMAN'S SERVICE" instead. I'm guessing at some point, a city staff member with an FEOK1 key noticed that it was out of service and used his key to see if that would reset or fix it, but FIREMAN SERVICE DOES NOT AND WILL NOT FIX A BROKEN ELEVATOR! In this scenario, you can mess around with elevator keys and buttons as much as you'd like. You can even put the thing into fireman service if you'd like. Once it's dead, it's dead until an elevator technician shows up and tends to the problem at hand. The reason why you don't hear a buzzer going off in the 2nd clip is because it doesn't work in the west elevator. Update 07/01/2026: Elevator is back in service.
