We Explored 2 Abandoned Mines Hidden in the San Gabriel Mountains | One Was Collapsed! On this adventure, we ventured into one of the most dangerous and remote areas of the San Gabriel Mountains in California to search for two old gold mines forgotten by time: the Gold Mine and the legendary Alison Mine. The trek was a true challenge. We had to cross extremely dangerous trails, slopes with enormous drops, loose rocks, and very difficult terrain to reach our destination. But the adventure was just beginning… A few meters away, we discovered another mine hidden next to an impressive waterfall. This time, we were able to explore its interior and found surprising vestiges of the past, including food cans over 100 years old, mining tools, and evidence of the lives of the old gold prospectors who worked in these mountains more than a century ago. Every corner of this exploration reminded us how difficult the miners' lives were and the enormous risks they faced every day.
