Ocean Report #028 | Snorkeling at Ikenda Beach in Tsumekizaki, Shimoda City, Izu. June 28, 2025, marked my second consecutive visit to Shimoda. Today, the waves were calm, so I chose the quiet cove of Ikenda Beach. In the crystal-clear waters, a school of vibrant blue damselfish greeted me. Swimming a little further offshore, a fantastical underwater world unfolded before me. ▶️ Highlights ・Getting up close and personal with a horde of damselfish! ・In addition to my usual wide-angle shots, I also tried macro photography to capture underwater footage. 🌊 Underwater Data ・Water Temperature: 25-26°C (Low 26°C in shallow waters) ・Equipment: 3mm wet jacket + 3mm wet pants 　※It's still June. Be careful, it's cold to stay in just a swimsuit for long periods of time.
