First established in 1829 by Robert Stayner Holford and later extended by his son George Lindsay Holford, the Arboretum is a true reflection of one man’s ambition and love of the natural world. With 2,500 species of trees from all over the world in the collection and over 15,000 varieties of trees and shrubs, there are plenty of areas in the grounds for visitors to explore and stunning scenes for people to enjoy!
