Career perspective: St. Jude pediatric oncologist Ching-Hon Pui, M.D.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital pediatric oncologist Ching-Hon Pui, M.D., has helped push cure rates for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common childhood cancer, to historic highs. As a result of his work, cure rates for ALL have risen from about 70 percent in the early 1980s to more than 90 percent today in the children and teens treated at St. Jude. This year, Pui celebrates 40 years of working at St. Jude.
