Handmade Art Journal Tutorial | Mixed Media & Vintage Vibes #junkjournal #artjournal #mixedmedia 🌸✨🎨 Handmade Mixed Media Art Journal | Process & Inspiration Welcome to my channel! In today’s video, I’ll take you through the step-by-step process of creating a vibrant, textured art journal using a range of mixed media techniques. Here’s how I made it: Masterboard Creation: I began by crafting a masterboard from old book pages and a variety of paper scraps, laying the foundation for a unique, layered background. The base page is 21” x 14.5” 56cm x 38cm. Tissue Paper & Medium: Next, I added tissue paper using matte medium gel, building up texture and depth across the surface. Gesso & Stencilling: I applied a coat of white gesso, then used super heavy gesso with stencils to create raised, tactile patterns and designs. Adding Colour: Once dry, I layered on various shades of pink acrylic paint and vibrant inks, blending and splattering to achieve a rich, expressive finish. Page Assembly: The masterboard was then torn into four pieces, each becoming a page in the journal. Binding: For a rustic touch, I used tea-stained fabric as tab binding to hold the pages together, giving the journal a handmade, vintage feel.
