I'm back with another political history video. You've probably heard the terms Fado, Fatima, and football together before. The 3F theory, also known as Fado, Fiesta, and Football, refers to lulling the public with music, religion (or entertainment), and football. While it's most commonly attributed to Spanish Dictator Franco, the 3F Theory actually belongs to Salazar, who ruled Portugal for many years. So how did Salazar lull the potentially rebellious public with 3F? Or were there ideological reasons behind it?
