DIY Antenna Rotor Finally WORKS! | 3D Printed Design

In this video, I’m giving you an update on the development of my 3D printed Antenna Rotor designed for Ham Radio satellite tracking. 📡 Technical Specs Chassis: Fully 3D printed in PETG for outdoor durability and UV resistance. Drive System: High-torque continuous rotation servos paired with custom-designed worm gears (zero backdrive). Sensing: AS5600 Magnetic Encoders for absolute angle sensing and high-resolution feedback. Controller: ESP32 (dual-core) managing the closed-loop control and motor PWM. 🛠️ The Goal Most commercial rotors are incredibly expensive. My goal was to create a "no-dead-zone" system that can track LEO satellites (like the ISS, AO-91, or SO-50) using affordable 3D-printed parts and smart sensors. The magnetic encoders ensure that even with continuous rotation, the ESP32 knows exactly where the antenna is pointed at all times—no limit switches required.
