They are located on the northern slopes of Tzoumerka at an altitude of 850 - 870 meters, right on the northern border with the Regional Unit of Ioannina. It is the northernmost village of the prefecture and is 72km (northeast) from the city of Arta and 65km (southeast) from Ioannina. Its population according to the 2001 census was 671 inhabitants, while with the 2021 census the permanent residents reached 264 in number. It is said that the name of the village is due (according to one view) to the industriousness of the inhabitants.
