Beyond the Beauty: The Hope and Slavery in Bangladesh’s Tea Gardens

I arrived in Sreemangal with a different plan—one that quickly changed after I got sick. On a whim, I decided to visit the tea gardens of Bangladesh. A place known for its beauty. But as I moved through them, I noticed something else. A crack beneath the surface. And when I stepped into it, I found a reality I wasn’t prepared for. One that exists quietly behind the green. This video isn’t a full investigation. It’s a moment. A glimpse. I had conversation with a man named Sobuj Taju, who shared what life inside the tea gardens really looks like. I thought I could come back the next day. Spend more time. Understand it better. But I didn’t get that chance. A lesson learned.
