A walking tour of Downtown Fort Worth, Texas (Sundance Square)

Downtown Fort Worth is an interesting area with bars and restaurants and tall buildings and brick-lined streets. Sundance Square is the heart of downtown, with a big open area where people can hang out, a stage for live music, a mural for the Chisholm Trail, and big cowboy hat that looks good in photos. I walked south from Sundance Square to the JFK memorial and learned that JFK spent the day in Fort Worth the day before he was assassinated. He made in inspiring speech where he said "there are no faint hearts in Fort Worth." Further down the street past the convention center are the Fort Worth Water Gardens. When I was walking back I found an old fashion and some piano music from Steve Barcus at Whiskey and Rye. Other places that feature live music in the area include Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, Sundance Square (7-10 on weekends), Scat Jazz Lounge, Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, The Library Bar, and Branch and Bird. Earlier in the day a played a gig at Northside Remedy out in Weatherford, Texas. Good times.
