Greenwich Village MacDougal Street area - from the 1970s onward
For my children, who grew up on MacDougal Street. Some of these photos are not from the 1970s--I sometimes had to user older or more recent shots. We lived in the yellow and white building that shows in the first and last frame, 134 MacDougal Street, from 1969 to 1977 (that building is no longer there, having been purchased and replaced by NYU). I tried to get pictures of the places we knew, for a feeling of what it was like there at the time. Audio: Leave the Light On, from the album of the same name, by Chris Smither.
