This blind girl got to see Mary Poppins for the first time since going blind!!

As a completely blind individual who sees no light and wears prosthetic scleral shells on top of my natural small eyes, and who has not seen Mary Poppins the movie with the little usable eyesight I grew up with for many many years, this moment was truly so sweet and special! In this video I am getting to meet Mary Poppins in Disneyland with my daughter Isabella. Mary Poppins is showing me what she is wearing with detailed and colorful descriptions as I feel everything with my finger eyes. I know this may seem silly or insignificant to some, but for me this is the only way I truly get to experience and enjoy these moments. Having these beautiful descriptions along with getting to see with my hands, truly creates a beautiful visual picture in my mind and brings back old memories of the way I once remembered her. Towards the end of our video, Mary Poppins had a question for me! She was so interested in my blindness, she asked if I could see any light at all. I told her no, and then I went on to share with her about my new prosthetic eyes I just had made with Minnie and Mickey hand painted on the tops of each one. Even though she was still in character, I went on to tell her about my YouTube channel just in case she wanted to check it out. I really hope she sees this video! These characters are so personal and beautiful, Disney sure has trained them well! This is so much more than a job, they are helping to create memories that will last a lifetime for so many.
