Knitting Podcast Ep.69 || Making Clothes That Fit You

In today's podcast I discuss how I modify the patterns I make to fit my body better. Sometimes it is as simple as not doing any waist shaping, but other times it is combining different sizes, which is why I love the Ann Budd books so much. I have listed the projects I cover in order, but you can also follow the timestamps below. I am not an affiliate with Knit Picks. I just like their products. WIPs: 1. Ripple Camisole, by Jessie Maed Designs using K&C cotton yarn, fingering weight, and using US 4 (3.5mm) Four Square needles. 2. Hazel Cardi -- Set-In Sleeve Cardigan from the book, The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, by Ann Budd. I am using 2 strands of Knit Pick's Upcycle Alpaca Blend yarn Sport weight with US 6 (4mm) Sunstruck(Knit Picks) needles for the 2x2 ribbing and US 7 (4.5mm) for the body of the cardigan. 3. Palette Cardigan -- Set-In Sleeve Cardigan using the pattern book, The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, by Ann Budd. I am using Knit Picks Palette yarn in the color Camel Twist and I am using the Knit Pick Reflections Lace in size US 2 (2.75mm) for a 2x2 ribbing and the body of the cardigan will be knit in US 3 (3.25mm). 4. The Vegetable Patch Jacket, by Anni Howard, from the pattern book Homestead Cables by Knit Picks. I am using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in the color Shire Heather. The pattern calls for using the same needles throughout, and I am using Knitter's Pride Zing 4mm. 5. Stripe Hype Sweater, by Kutovakika. I am using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Tweed, worsted weight, in the colors Dove Heather and Barn Door Heather. I am using Knit Picks Sunstruck circular interchangeable needles in size US 6 (4mm).
