THE SIGHT & THE SOUND 3/3 : Flight onboard Syrianair B 727-294 YK-AGA from Berlin (SXF) to Vienna
Daniel’s Travel Log This video has been remastered with a significantly improved sound and improved vision and replaces an older version published a few years ago. Air Events made it possible. Syrian Arab Airlines was flying in peace times on schedule the long way from Damascus via Aleppo, Vienna to Berlin-Schönefeld Airport (now Berlin-Brandenburg Airport), in former Eastern Germany. Equipment : A320. However, May 22, 2005 was different ! This day was marked with a special occasion. It was to be a Boeing 727 once again, an ancient, old aged, 29 year old veteran Boeing 727, YK-AGA, in old Syrian Air color scheme. The author of this video joined the rotation in Vienna, early morning, May 22, 2005, continuing on a sightseeing flight over Berlin, with two special go-arounds over Tempelhof and one over Tegel Airport, and then returning back to Vienna. This video is one of the first videos, I taped in HD-quality, using HDV-cassettes with my newest Sony High-Definition Camera back in 2005. This flight documentation features the return flight onboard Syrian Arab Airlines Boeing 727-294 YK-AGA from Berlin back to Vienna. History of Boeing 727-294 Advanced YK-AGA October 6 Airframe 21203 was manufactured in 1976, delivered to Syrian Arab Airlines on March 5, 1976 and registered YK-AGA. YK-AGA was named October 6, commemorating the Syrian Army’s successful advance into the Golan Heights during the October War in 1973. YK-AGA spent her entire flying life in the service of Syrian Arab Airlines, operating on regional routes and services throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. On May 22, 2005 YK-AGA performed a sightseeing flight for aviation enthusiasts over Berlin including a Low Pass over Tempelhof and Tegel Airport. YK-AGA has been reported retired and stored long before the outbreak of the Syrian War in 2014. Enjoy with me the Sights & Sounds of Classic Aviation. Thank you for visiting my channel.
