In this lecture, Dr. Resnick will present everything that you wanted to know about the normal and abnormal knee meniscus, emphasizing the diagnostic importance of MR imaging. Dr. Resnick will discuss the anatomy, function, and morphology of the meniscus, emphasizing the architecture of the meniscal collagen and its influence on how meniscal lesions will appear on MR images. He'll also cover patterns of meniscal failure, including meniscal tears, detachments, and displacements, meniscal root ligament lesions, especially the posterior root ligament of the medial meniscus, as well as at unique meniscal lesions occurring in the posteromedial and posterolateral “corners” of the knee.
