Marc Anduss: Single-Axis, Reduced Gear, Non-solar Tracker...and more

Marc Anduss was long ago infected by the solar cooking virus, DIY-strain A :) Marc wanted the simplest way to track the sun for his cookers to be set, and forgot. With a bare minimum of common electronics, his platform uses on solar panels to "find the sun," but keeps pace with the ration of the earth. A box or reflective panel cooker will be at home spinning at a snail's pace, always facing the sun. A video with photos of Marc's parts list can be viewed here:    • Marc's parts list in screen grabs, for his...   Marc has also explored different ways to insulate DIY box cookers and improve insulation with commercial models. Note: Marc's home state of Texas performed as advertised, and he stuck through a very hot day to bring us his story. There will be some fan noise, and an occasional plane overhead.
