Built between sea and mountains, around one of the most beautiful bays in the world: the "Bay of Angels", Nice is today the 5th largest city in France. Since the second half of the 19th century, Nice has attracted the European aristocracy thanks to its sunny climate, its exceptional position on the Mediterranean and its elegant atmosphere, thus becoming an essential stop for tourism on the Côte d'Azur. The city of Nice boasts many attractions, museums, churches and galleries to visit. The old city is an enchanting postcard view, a maze of pastel-coloured streets, a tangle of narrow and winding alleys teeming with small shops and sellers. In the heart of the old city the shops are overflowing with typical products and the numerous markets will enchant you with their inviting scents among olives, fragrant bread and essence sellers. We begin our tour from the Promenade des Anglais, the most famous promenade on the French Riviera, a magnificent seafront surrounded by a splendid urban setting, full of beautiful period buildings, porticoes and small squares overlooking the bay. Its seven kilometers are the favorite destination for runners and rollers, who come looking for a place of peace and serenity to keep fit. But above all it is the most loved place by the inhabitants of Nice and by tourists, who travel there to enjoy a magnificent panorama, to sit under the pergolas and admire the expanse of the blue sea. From here we continue along Rue Halevy entering the pedestrianized historic center of the city full of bars and restaurants as well as shops of all kinds to pass through Place Magenta in Rue de la Liberte' and from here in Rue Grimaldi. Afterwards, walking along Boulevard Victor Ugo we will be able to admire the Église Protestante Unie de Nice and following along Avenue Baquis and Place Mozart we will enter Avenue Georges Clemenceau, Rue d'Angleterre, Rue Paul Deroulede and Rue de Russie until we reach the garden of the Basilica, Place Notre Dame, where we will visit it. We continue along Rue d'Angleterre which we follow until we reach Avenue Thiers where we pass in front of the futuristic Center Commercial Iconic. From here we continue to the city's Central Train Station The Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption is a Catholic place of worship in the center of Nice, France, located on avenue Jean Médecin. It is the largest church in the city. It was built immediately after the annexation of the county of Nice to France (between 1864 and 1879) with the aim of giving a French touch to the city and modernizing it. It amazes with its architectural details, the surprising windows and the two 31 meter high towers.
