Our Father Metropolitan Silouan's Sermon, and the ordination of Father Samuel to archpriest!

Very blessed today to receive our Father Metropolitan Silouan once more as we celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Dresden. This morning he ordained Seraphim Moss as a Reader, and Father Samuel Carter was ordained as an archpriest. Axios! ☦️ Following the Liturgy we had the beautiful service of Forgiveness, after which we celebrated with a wonderful feast in the Scout Hut. Today Metropolitan Silouan preached to us about the importance of forgiveness, which is why it is directly before the start of Great Lent. We cannot fast, Father said, if we have no forgiveness in our hearts. If we have no forgiveness then everything we do for Lent is just on the surface, and more for us, or for the people we are thinking are looking at us, than for God. Fasting, prayer, and acts of mercy are meaningless with a heart that will not forgive.
