The Painful Truth About Trusting Relatives While Living Abroad

Many people living abroad dream of building a home, investing, or preparing for their eventual return home. To make this possible, they often trust relatives to manage projects, pay bills, look after properties, and oversee construction. Unfortunately, that trust is sometimes broken. In this video, I discuss some of the painful experiences many people in the diaspora have faced, including inflated building costs, misuse of funds, unpaid rates and utility bills, poor project management, and even relatives refusing to vacate houses when the owner finally decides to return home. This is not an attack on family members. Many relatives are honest and supportive.
