ODISEA CERRO GORDO S.O.S. - La ruta prohibida de Guasca.

At this point, we thought we'd be having a normal adventure ride, but we had no idea of the magnitude of this decision: exploring the ruins of an abandoned dam in the Cuchilla mountain range. Although we knew we were facing a challenge, no calculations could have warned us of what lay ahead, one of the worst journeys ever undertaken on an MTB. Don't miss a single detail of this odyssey, because every decision we made that day led to the tragedy we experienced on that inhospitable mountain somewhere in Colombia. We learned a lesson for life. From here, the real adventure begins. This episode isn't an instruction manual for other riders to take on this route; it's simply a testimony from my experience, where we may have defied state and environmental laws, as well as common sense. I don't recommend repeating this route, questioning the logic of this sport. Crossing the line between adventure and danger can be a decision with a very high cost. This Odyssey ends here, an unforgettable and unrepeatable route. It's one of those experiences I don't want to do again, at least not on a bike. This ride taught me that there are limits to mountain biking. I also learned that not all mountains are there to be conquered on a bike, that the path puts everyone in their place. On this occasion, we were very fortunate to arrive home safely with an incredible experience in our memories and with this special episode in the history of Danny Rider MTB. I leave you with this message: Please don't do this route. It's not worth taking your bike to such a beautiful and fragile natural setting.
