Despite being dangerous and operating illegally, in some areas of Mexico City, bicycle taxis, motorcycle taxis, and golf taxis are considered the only transportation alternative. In the nation's capital, approximately 18,000 to 20,000 of these vehicles operate daily within some working-class neighborhoods, according to the latest census conducted by the Alternative Collective Transportation Organizations Front (FOTCA).
