Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas died at age 21 while attempting a rope jump, a practice similar to bungee jumping, at the Ponte do Esqueleto (Skeleton Bridge) in Limeira, São Paulo. The clandestine company responsible for the jumps forgot the young woman's rope, throwing her from a height of 40 meters. Her fiancé became ill and is hospitalized. Three people were arrested.
