The Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement (PQI) held a virtual, two-day, SPEAK UP Implicit and Explicit Bias Training for healthcare providers in Georgia on Tuesday, September 1, and Tuesday, September 8, 2020. One of the attendees of this training was Dr. Deborah Taylor, MD, FACOG. Dr. Taylor is Core Faculty at the Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, GA. Around the time she attended the SPEAK UP training, Dr. Taylor had two experiences that stood out to her.
