Halo 2 is Legendary

When a game developer makes a game so prolific, so profitable that it not only makes mega bonzo bucks, but also becomes the defining game of an entire console’s brand and the must-play game that every child and a staggering number of adults is gagging to play, it would be – to say the least – foolish for the publisher of that game to not start licking their lips at the idea of a sequel. Halo: Combat Evolved released in 2001 to near universal critical acclaim and, as stated, made mega bonzo bucks for both developer Bungie and publisher Microsoft, skyrocketing the sales of the Xbox against its competitors as a game that people were literally buying the Xbox just to play. And 3 short years later, Bungie went and did it again. Halo 2’s release was, somehow, even more insane than the first game. With the world now eagerly keeping their eyes on it, the amount of excitement prior to its launch was untenable. And their excitement was justified, between trailers and footage, playable E3 teasers and just seeing and hearing the passion that Bungie had for this game? What they ended up producing was bigger, better and even more revolutionary than what Halo: Combat Evolved had ended up being.
