"Across the Valleys and Over the Hills" is actually a Soviet-era song known as "Partisan's Song" (original title: По долинам и по взгорьям). With powerful lyrics translated by Hiroshi Iizuka, "Crossing hills and valleys, the struggle continues yesterday and today…", this song spread through Japan's Utagoe (Singing Voice) movement. Moscow Radio (Russian: Pадио Москва, tr. Radio Moskva) was the official international broadcasting station of the Soviet Union until 1993. It was later reorganized under the names Voice of Russia (1993-2014) and Radio Sputnik (2014-). Radio Sputnik currently broadcasts only via internet radio. Asahi Sonorama Co., Ltd. was a Japanese publishing company that no longer exists. "Sonorama" is a coined word combining the Latin word "sonus" meaning "sound" and the Greek word "horama" meaning "spectacle."
