Highly automated manufacturing process for large aircraft structures in dry CFRP design
The DLR project PROTEC NSR dealt with the automation of manufacturing processes for large aircraft structural components. This video shows the final stage (as for February 2019) of the project where a demonstrator part was built using the developed technologies and tools for standard industrial robots. The process includes steps for pick & place, rolling material application, fixation, quality assurance, stringer integration and vacuum bagging controlled and monitored within on manufacturing execution system.
