The last day of our adventures in the Tomsk region. To see the full potential of my friend, guide Andrey Mikhailichenko, we decided to hold a session on his native river. Today I woke up at his dacha around 5 am. A delicious breakfast, packing. And, of course, I didn't forget to water the cucumbers. 🤣 The river is beyond the garden. 5 minutes and the boat is in the water. The first thing we were met with was, of course, midges. But we've already built up immunity. We fly to our working points. The first cast, Andrey immediately gives me his signature roosters to try. I wasn't particularly confident in them, but I wouldn't be able to get any bad advice. The first cast was 16 g, and my new Argument tip was simply awful. It wasn't a powerful cast! About 30 m. Last time, my friend broke it at 10 g. How could that be? I took it out of the tube, just as it arrived at SDEK. And the breakage was in the same place. The Chinese guy must have done a clumsy job. And the rest of my rods are on the shore. But Andrey came to the rescue and gave me his new OLTA Tomahawk rod, weighing up to 45g. Tomsk residents speak highly of it. Well, I have no choice; I'll have to fish. My first impression (for me personally) is that it's a bit thick and chunky. But I haven't cast anything heavier than 20g. My ideal weight was 16g. 10g is barely visible on a sandy bottom. I think you can use up to 35g. But let's not get distracted. The first spot immediately started producing pike. It's a good spot for zander, but they're not eating. I caught three, got a couple of fish, and then we moved on. The second cast was empty. The third produced a couple more. But we were specifically going for zander. Then we came to an interesting location. You can't find it without a good fish finder. There are a lot of fish. Andrey immediately showed me how to catch zander. But I wasn't getting anywhere. Something nibbles and falls off. I start to shrink, using an 80mm lure, a double hook that covers the entire length. Andrey is already landing his second zander, and at that moment I catch a decent 2.5 kg pike with a double hook. The mood is high. We catch perch right there, and then I catch a 5 kg pike. After 11 a.m., the fishing stopped. Although they were still there, we decided not to linger long and checked a couple more spots. But only the perch were active there. On the way back, we stopped at the morning spot. The first cast, and a 2 kg zander is already in the boat. We're short on time today; we need to get back to Kemerovo before daylight. Around 4 p.m., we were already loading the boat on the shore. Before the trip, they fed us heartily, like family. They even gave us ice cream. I'll be back again. I liked it.
