The accused, who arrived on a scooter wearing helmets, targeted the woman while she was shopping. However, their escape bid failed as alert shopkeepers chased and overpowered them before handing them over to Capital Police Station. The entire chain-snatching attempt was captured on CCTV cameras. During the struggle, the gold chain reportedly broke and fell to the ground, preventing the accused from taking it away. Police have questioned both suspects and found that they were allegedly using a scooter with a tampered registration number. Following the investigation, Capital Police arrested the two accused and produced them before the court.
