The Hull & Barnsley & Great Central Joint Railway - Anston-Doncaster-Carlton Towers Line.
An in-depth look at the former Hull & Barnsley & Great Central Joint Railway from Anston to Carlton Towers via Doncaster and Snaith. We will look at the line from start to finish. As well as mentions of any works, bridge/viaducts and collieries/junctions of note. This line was opened in 1916 but never as a passenger line and spent its life as a simple freight and excursions line before closure in 1968 and the stub to Thorpe Marsh Power Station in 1970.
