In a spiritually momentous event, Tibetan leader Dalai Lama laid the foundation stone for the Chokhang Vihara in Leh, drawing thousands of monks, nuns, devotees, and local dignitaries. The ceremony, marked by traditional Buddhist prayers and rituals, signals a renewed commitment to preserving and promoting Ladakh's centuries-old Buddhist heritage.The event was organized by the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA),  emphasized the Vihara’s future role not just as a place of worship but as a centre for education, cultural dialogue, and monastic learning.
