Marco D'Eramo: “Il turismo è un'industria, ma in Italia è gestita come una proloco"

Journalist and essayist Marco D'Eramo, a guest on the GoodMorning Genova program about the touristification of the historic center and the Easter rush to Ligurian villages, expressed himself bluntly: "In Italy, tourism has become a problem because there's nothing else. Paris and London, which are the most touristy cities in Europe, don't experience the same difficulties as Florence and Venice, to name two: problems that are now also affecting Genoa. Tourism, like all industries, needs industrial policies. But in Italy, the system, from the Ministry down to the Department, functions like a local tourist board, like an advertising agency: never like a political entity."
