INCREDIBLE MOTOR! Classic 1979 Otis Lexan Hydraulic Elevator at The Indigo Inn, Charleston, SC

Filmed March 2019. Since today is Memorial Day, a very important Holiday to the History of the USA and people who fought for the USA, I figured today would be an appropriate day to upload something that is COMPLETELY American Made!!! Which is none other than, this BEAUTIFUL Otis Lexan Elevator, Completely Unmodded dating back to 1979!!! This hotel was built back in the 1850s as an Indigo Warehouse, but was converted into a hotel I believe in the 20s before being renovated and converted into the Indigo Inn in 1979. While this elevator isn't original to the building, it is just a small part to this AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL Historic Hotel, and the elevator, it is still absolutely EPIC with a Cab, RARE Lanterns, Otis Logo and Ceiling STRAIGHT out of the 1970s, has it's ORIGINAL Lexan fixtures in EXCELLENT Shape, and also features it's ORIGINAL, EPIC DRY POWERED Old Otis Hydraulic Motor that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE and is my FAVORITE Hydraulic Motor Ever!!! And not to mention, the machine room was CRACKED OPEN, and because of this, The Elevator Motor was LOUDER than EVER!!! And I could hear it everywhere in the hotel!!!! While I can only imagine what it's like trying to sleep with the door open like that and how annoying it would be as a guest, me as an enthusiast visiting the hotel found the extra loud motor noise to be INCREDIBLE!!!! I really wanted to go sneak in the machine room, but as you saw, I was stopped by the staff for obvious reasons. On the bright side, at least I got a retake of this AMAZING Elevator, running better than EVER with it's MOTOR LOUDER THAN EVER, and you also get to hear the Relays right outside the machine room clicking!!!! This thing is now a little bumpy when leveling at 1, but otherwise runs FLAWLESSLY! The Staff here was also AMAZING and Welcomes Elevator Photography, the building is GORGEOUS and this elevator just tops this place off!!!! This is an absolutely AMAZING Elevator that I give huge props to both Dieselducy and crapper1 for finding 9 YEARS AGO, as well as the hotel for keeping this BEAUTY UNTOUCHED, and I hope this thing NEVER gets modernized!!!! That all being said, enjoy a retake of this AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL Otis Lexan Hydro with an INCREDIBLE DRY POWERED HYDRAULIC MOTOR!!!! (Plus a Hallway and Lobby Tour as well!!!)
