How to Make a Floral Zine | Folding Technique + Mixed Media Spreads (Part 1)

Transform a single sheet of paper into a beautiful floral zine inspired by magnolias! In this first part of the tutorial, I'll show you a new zine folding technique before we begin decorating the pages with mixed media. Together, we'll create the first three spreads, layering collage, paint, and drawing inspired by the timeless beauty and symbolism of magnolias. This project became a little bigger than expected, so I've divided it into two parts. In Part 2, we'll complete the remaining three spreads, add some words & quotes, and create the zine cover. Whether you're new to handmade zines or looking for fresh art journaling ideas, I hope this project inspires you to experiment with paper folding and create your own miniature work of art. 00:40 Folding the zine 08:58 Planning the designs 17:55 & 31:43 Design 1 - Mixed-media background + ink drawing + pastel 24:50 Design 2 - Old map + acrylic brush pen drawing 28:32 Design 3 - Watercolor drawing 🎨 Materials used: • One sheet of A3 size paper (180gsm) • Scissors and glue • Transparent gesso • Collage papers • Acrylic ink • Watercolor • Black brush ink pen • Metallic gel pen 💌 Join The Artful Blossom Letter for seasonal floral inspiration, art journaling ideas, and free printable flower guides: https://camilagarciaart.com/ 📚 Explore my free Flower Guides: ❄️ Explore my Fall Flower Guide: https://camilagarciaart.com/fallflowe... 🍂 Explore my Winter Flower Guide: https://camilagarciaart.com/winterflo... 🌼 Explore my Spring Flower Guide: https://camilagarciaart.com/springflo... 🎥 Watch my zine folding technique videos: • 5 Zine Folding Techniques You Can Try Today – Part 1:    • 5 Zine Folding Techniques You Can Try Toda...   • 5 More Zine Folding Techniques You Can Try Today – Part 2:    • 5 Zine Folding Techniques You Can Try Toda...   If you enjoyed this tutorial, don't forget to like the video, subscribe, and let me know in the comments: Have you ever made a handmade zine?
