Virology Live #25: Therapeutic Viruses
The use of virus vectors to treat or prevent human diseases has been made possible by the contributions of basic virology research. This work has provided a fundamental understanding about viral genomes, replication, and interaction with the host that together with clinical research has created this growing field. In this final session of Virology Live 2021, we describe different viruses used for gene therapy, how they work, and examples of their use for vaccines, monogenic gene therapy, and viral oncotherapy.
