Book a Patient Consult: https://www.agamdhawanmd.com/consult I’m a board-certified psychiatrist and mentor PMHNPs, and in this episode I share six signs I’ve seen that separate strong psych NPs from less strong ones based on daily work with my PMHNP community. The six signs are: humility (staying open to feedback and continuous learning), curiosity (applying interest to core psychiatry knowledge like medication mechanisms and dosing), agency (taking action to own your education and growth), being team-based (supporting the clinical team and recognizing how attitudes affect others), risk tolerance (weighing risks vs benefits in complex cases like pregnancy medication decisions and suicide assessments), and passion (genuine commitment to psychiatry that fuels development in all the other areas). I close by noting these are skills you can build and mention my PMHNP Academy for further growth. 00:00 Six Signs Overview 00:38 Humility Builds Skill 04:34 Curiosity Drives Mastery 07:38 Agency Take Action 11:21 Team Based Mindset 13:47 Risk Tolerance Decisions 16:59 Passion Fuels Longevity 19:03 Wrap Up And Next Steps
