All New 2026 BYD Dolphin G DM-i PHEV - Walkaround, Interior and Specs

Take a look at the all new 2026 BYD DOLPHIN G DM-i. BYD has revealed the all new DOLPHIN G DM-i, a new compact plug-in hybrid hatchback for the European market. The model uses BYD’s Hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 94hp, with a 161 hp electric motor, the car being designed to run mainly on electric power in daily driving, with the petrol engine available for longer trips. Total system output is 174 hp in the Active trim and 209 hp in the Boost, Comfort, and Sport trims. The 1.5-litre petrol engine often works as a generator, producing electricity for the battery, especially when it is low or extra range is needed. However, at higher speeds or in certain driving conditions, the petrol engine can also drive the wheels directly through the hybrid transmission. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. Two battery sizes are available. The Active version uses a 7.42 kWh battery, while Boost, Comfort, and Sport versions use an 18.3 kWh battery. The DOLPHIN G offers up to 105 km of pure-electric range, depending on the version. With a full battery and fuel tank, the total driving range reaches up to 1,040 km. Equipment includes features such as a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, heated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, rear air vents, Vehicle-to-Load capability, head-up display, panoramic roof, 360-degree camera, and built-in Google services, depending on specification. Standard driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, lane assistance, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, driver monitoring, and door-opening warning. Boot capacity is 425 litres, increasing to 1,225 litres when the rear seats are folded. European orders are expected to open before the summer holidays, with first deliveries planned for early autumn 2026. #byd #dolphynG #recanything #voa #recn
