50,000 subscribers! To celebrate, I invite you to the beginning of a unique series in which we visit farms in southern Poland. We're starting with an absolutely extraordinary place – the "Gładyszów" Hucul Stud Farm in Regietów, located in the heart of the picturesque Beskid Niski Mountains. This is the largest Hucul stud farm not only in Poland but in all of Europe. Nearly 300 horses live on nearly 740 hectares of grassland, grazing on vast mountain pastures for most of the year. Some work at the stud farm, but most live almost entirely freely from spring to late autumn. In autumn, the famous Hucul Redyk takes place here – a spectacular drive of horses from the summer pastures to the stud farm. During my visit, I spoke with Janusz Michalak about the operation of this extraordinary farm. You'll learn how farming is done in areas dominated by Class V and VI soils, why virtually the entire area is permanent grassland, and what daily work is like on one of the region's largest farms. We also touch on agriculture in the Beskid Niski Mountains, where the average farm is only about 7 hectares, and most farmers raise dairy or beef cattle. The film also features a display of agricultural machinery. We learn the story of the unique Ursus tractors and their owner, Mr. Włodzimierz, who today shows them more out of passion than profit. Finally, we visit his farm. This is an incredibly moving encounter with a man who milked cows by hand for 45 years and vividly remembers what daily work in the mountains was like before the first machines arrived. Today, he only keeps one cow and two calves, but with great dedication, he shows younger generations what farming was like decades ago. This is a story not only about a farm but also about time, change, and the immense respect for the farmer's work. This is just the first episode of our short series.
