Mixed Road Bicycle Tire Upgrade - 28c/30c Rear | Pirelli P Zero Race → Continental Granprix 5000s TR

Having used 28c tires on my 3rd generation Domane for four years, I had always wanted to try 30c or 32c tires. Finally, I was able to use a 30c tire, at least for the rear. I thought that wider tires than 28c might absorb minor vibrations slightly better during long-distance rides, thereby reducing muscle fatigue. Since replacing both front and rear tires at once was too expensive, I moved the 28c rear tire, which was in good condition, to the front and replaced the rear with a newly purchased 30c tire. After deliberating on which 30c tire to choose, I selected the Continental Granprix 5000s TR Black Chili (aka Classic). I am sharing the process of selecting the tires, the maintenance process of replacing them, and my impressions after riding about 200km. Finally, I've upgraded at least the rear tire to a 30c. My hope was that a wider tire might better absorb small vibrations during long-distance rides, potentially reducing muscle fatigue. Replacing both tires at once was a bit costly, so I came up with a solution: I moved the still-good 28c rear tire to the front and fitted a new 30c tire on the rear. After much consideration, I chose the Continental Grand Prix 5000s TR Black Chili (often called the "Classic"). In this video, I'll share my tire selection process, guide you through the replacement procedure, and offer my thoughts after riding about 200km on this new setup.
