Man wrongly treated for seven years for rare cancer he never had

A man who was treated for seven years for an incurable blood cancer has told Good Morning Britain of his shock and upset when he was told that he had never had the disease. Simon Pearson was also warned that the cancer could be hereditary and that he might have passed it to his children. He spent years in and out of hospital believing he had a condition that could eventually kill him. Dr Naj Rashid, Chief Medical Officer for George Eliot Hospital has apologised for the care Simon recieved. Adding; "the trust has carried out a thorough investigation into what went wrong and have put in place actions to address issues identified to ensure this is not able to happen again."
