How To Fix Tesla Model X Passenger-Side Bench Seat Easy Entry Sliders

Despite many Tesla Service Centers not (yet) knowing how to diagnose these issues, Tesla Model X seat sliders and easy entry can be fixed without replacing the seat! My right-hand passenger-side 2nd row seat failed on my Tesla, and wouldn't lock to the track. After a lot of research and finally figuring out how to fix it, I couldn't believe how common it was that Tesla Service Centers would charge people thousands of dollars to fully replace replace their seats to address this. The same problem causes the Easy Entry button to not cause the seat to slide forward. I'm publishing this video to show owners and service centers how to properly diagnose and address this common problem in the hope of saving people thousands and wasting so many seats. You can have two symptoms. Either your seat slides uncontrollably and won't lock to the track, or when you use the Easy Entry button, you can't slide the seat forward to access the back seats. You may have this warning on your dash: "The second row seat is not locked on the track" "Push seat base forward then rearward" 00:00 - Introduction 00:40 - The Problem 01:37.- Locating the Broken Part 02:51 - The Design Flaw 03:31 - The Diagnosis 04:05 - Ordering the New Part 04:41 - Installing the New Part 06:53 - How The Seat Should Work 07:20 - Tesla Do Better How to Order Parts: UPDATE: Tesla has added the ability to order most parts through their online parts catalog! https://epc.tesla.com/en-US/catalogs And this is the old clunky way for ordering parts that aren't available through their catalog: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threa... So, the "good old" way still remains - make a service appointment with Reason: "Other" and provide the part number in the free text.
