We've done a few live edge slab projects now, and so far we've been very restrained in our designs, making sure that we don't do anything to overshadow the slab itself. The wood slab top has always been the star of the show. In this project, we threw all of that out the window. The slab top is still an important part of the desk...but I think the base is the real star of the show here. I'm not sure if this was the right decision. But we wanted to give it a shot.
