08-30-2021 LaPlace, LA - Surge Innundation Drone - I-10 at US-51 - Homes Seriously Damaged - Flooded

[email protected] #Hurricane #Ida produced major storm surge inundation off of Lake Pontchartrain across US-51 near the I-10 corridor. Submersion was several feet deep and many water rescues were required in the area. The water is rushing back toward the lake at this point, but several feet of water and mud can still be seen near the on ramp. Numerous homes near by were also damaged severely by the wind and water of Ida. Neighborhoods were still submerged in places over 24 hours after the storms passage. Several showers were seen in the area this afternoon. #LAwx #LSMwx
