Learning Objectives: Review the evidence behind glucocorticoid reduction strategies for induction therapy in ANCA-vasculitis Review strategies to improve renal recovery Discuss the SAFE-LOW trial starting at The Ottawa Hospital Dr. David Massicotte-Azarniouch is an associate scientist in the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He is also nephrologist and assistant professor at the University of Ottawa. He completed his medical school at the University of Montreal, and then his internal medicine residency at McGill University. He did his Nephrology residency at University of Ottawa, where he then completed a Masters' in Epidemiology and a Solid Organ Transplant Fellowship as well as the Clinical Investigator Program. Finally, he completed a Glomerulonephritis and Vasculitis Fellowship at the University of North Carolina In Chapel Hill before coming back as a Staff Nephrologist in Ottawa since 2022.
