Ain | 2h d’efforts pour atteindre cette merveille géologique ! | Instinct Découvertes

Today, I'm taking you to discover a spectacular geological wonder: a Jurassic fold nestled in the Sérémond mountain, just above Virieu-le-Grand in the Ain department. The village is known for its beautiful waterfall, the Clairefontaine waterfall, and I'll be taking you there as well in this video. Here, the rock seems to have gently folded in on itself, as if the mountain had been hand-folded. The fold is visible from the village but probably rarely visited; there's no path and access is perilous, yet it tells millions of years of history in a single glance. We'll approach it step by step to understand how such a landscape could have formed, and above all, to enjoy this astonishing setting, suspended between wild nature and the memory of time.
