Exploring Pattern: William Morris with Rachel Moore 🎨
William Morris is well known for the patterns that adorn walls and windows of homes around the world. Using some basic materials and equipment, print artist Rachel will take you through a series of exercises experimenting with shape, line and repeat. Your prints will be inspired by Morris' designs during his time at The Red House and beyond. Rachel has been running print making workshops for children and adults since 2005. She usually holds workshops at her studio in Rochester High Street but since 2020 has taken a lot of them online. Techniques taught include screen printing, linocut, Gelli printing and cyanotype. Rachel likes to demystify printmaking and tries to show how, with just a few common items and cheats, you can create fabulous prints. Find out more about Rachel’s work here👇🏼   / iprintedthat  https://www.iprintedthat.com/ For this session you will need👇🏼 • Paper and pencil to make sketches • Tracing paper or greaseproof paper • Clean polystyrene takeaway box • Permanent marker pen • Ink pad in your choice of colour • Paper to print onto - preferably A1 / A2 or plain lining wallpaper - Please note all sessions are FREE to watch but donations to Royal Voluntary Service are appreciated.
