April 22, 2009, Wednesday Sermon at Seoul Central Church Repentance Leading to Salvation Pastor Seo Do-seok Matthew 21:23-32 23 As Jesus entered the temple and began to teach, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him and said, “By what authority do you do these things? And who gave you this authority?” 24 Jesus answered, “I will also ask you a question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I do these things.” 25 “From where did John’s baptism come? From heaven or from men?” They conferred among themselves and said, “If they say it is from heaven, they will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’ 26 But if they say it is from men, they will say, ‘Because all people regard John as a prophet, and the people will be afraid.’ 27 They answered him, ‘We do not know.’ Then Jesus said, ‘By what authority I do these things I will not tell you either.’ 28 But what do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the older son and said, "Son, go and work in the vineyard today," he said. 29 He answered, "Father, I will go." But he did not go. 30 He went to the second son and said the same thing to him. He answered, "I will not." But afterward he repented and went away. 31 "Which of the two did the father's will?" they asked. "The second son." Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, tax collectors and prostitutes will enter the kingdom of God before you." 32 "John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes believed.
